Ahhh, if A2 area is not implemented (device not found = address does not exists) then password is also not implemented. As you observed, password is stored in A2 area, if this area not exists then password can not be stored. In such case it's protected in other way. But I checked specs of this EX-S...

Hi, If transceiver is password protected, this password is on most cases in this range. MSA standard tells that it has to be in this range, but I know cases when password is not in this range, but in first half (00 00 00 00 - 7F FF FF FF) or transceiver is protected on other way.
