Re: Bouncing fuel pressure sensor

Uploaded the new software today before going out on a longer drive. It works wonderful! It´s still rather bouncy on the gauge closest to the injection pump - I suppose the demand from the IP is quite fluctuating - but now it´s readable and understandable, so I´m very happy with the update! Thank you...

Re: Bouncing fuel pressure sensor

Ah, yes, I forgot to mention that! The "oil pressure" is pre filter on the wvo side, "boost pressure" is pre filter on the diesel side, and "fuel pressure" is common just before the injection pump. In the video, the car is idling on diesel, so there is no lift pump runn...

Re: Bouncing fuel pressure sensor

Haha, keep the questions coming! :) :) Yes - all the readings are bouncing. The pressure sensor closest to the injection pump is bouncing quite a bit more than the sensor closer to the lift pump. It seems like the filters are acting like "buffers" and is taking away some of the pressure sp...

Re: Bouncing fuel pressure sensor

Wow, if you can do that, it would be really cool! :) To be honest, I don´t really know what would be the "perfect" average. It is good to be able to see the fuel drop when I accelerate, but it seems to me like I am reading quite a bit of the pulses from the lift pump. Maybe cut it in half ...

Bouncing fuel pressure sensor

Hi!

I am playing around with the fuel system of my car at the moment - and as I removed one out of two filters, the fuel pressure gauges started bouncing a LOT. Is it possible to do something with this in the software, or is a gauge snubber the way to go here?

Cheers,
Svein

Re: Utcomp in a CAT excavator?

Cool! The Goal would be to eliminate the stock gauge panel completely - Allthough Im thinking it might be an Idea to leave it inside the console somewhere to power the existing sensors so the utcomp just Could tap the signals. I am most worried about the Voltage range of the sensor as I measured out...

Utcomp in a CAT excavator?

A friend of mine have bought an old CAT excavator, and we are looking at upgrading and fixing some gauges. I have put him on the idea of replacing old ugly, nonfunctioning and new gauges with an Utcomp. Do you have any advices on how easy or not it would be? The original display shows water temperat...

Re: Fuel pressure sensor suddenly stopped working

I solved a lot of issues in the end by a combination of making a custom temp/fuel pressure fitting and getting a new filter before my lift pump. Both changes to the fuel system gave me less restrictions and now I have good readings of the fuel temperature as well:

Re: Fuel pressure sensor suddenly stopped working

Hi again! I put my thermal suit on and had a good day crawling under the car in the snow. Re-routed the fuel lines and changed the lift pump, and suddenly the sensor showed pressure again - Im quite confident the sensor was right all along, and I fucked it up with my fuel lines. ;) I have one sensor...
