turbo pressure sensor calibration

Postby Massimiliano » Thu Oct 19, 2023 9:59 am

Hi, I had a 2.5bar turbo sensor
Now I'm fitting a 3 bar turbo sensor.
Is this configuration correct?
I would like to read the real bars without the absolute
Thank you

MAP sensor is absolute pressure sensor.
These values will give absolute pressure.
For turbo pressure, you can deduct 1.0 bar if you are living on sea level, so based on your calibration data it will be:
a = 0.66
b = -0,89 (with minus)

HI,
I calibrated the sensor but I find the values are off by 0.2 because in depression it shows -0.4 when it would be -0-6/65 and in full boost it shows 1.6 when it is at 1.4bar..

what do you think ?
Thank you

Calibration is based on values you have provided.
You can make offset 0,2 bar (deduct 0,2 from b) but it means that provided parameters or not correct.

Personally I prefere absolute pressure, because it's independent on atmospheric pressure.

Thank you,
so you say to try to use the absolute measurement and then lower by -0.2 in B if necessary?

Could it be that it's due to the voltage varying?
is 11 at 0.25 volts and 3.06 at 4.75 volts

If you have such values, then scaling will be slightly different.
for 0,25V = 0,11 bar & 4,75V = 3,06 bar please use:
1. a = 0,66 and b = -0,05 (with minus!) for absolute pressure
or 2. a = 0,66 and b = -1,05 for boost pressure when athmospheric pressure is 1.0 bar

last night I set the values as you wrote to me (I had changed the voltage values on the exel calculation) and now it reads correctly :-)
Thank you so much
