UTCOMP-PRO different display

Postby sedlons » Mon Feb 19, 2024 6:33 pm

I plan to install UTCOMP-PRO to my Land Rover Discovery II TD5 and put display instead of ash tray, but there is not enough space. Your supplied display is too wide, so I would like to use NHD-3.12-25664UCW2 https://mou.sr/3ONUWOA. The pins are oriented to the upper side and thanks to narrower PCB it can easily be mounted to my car.

I think, that this OLED can also work, because the resolution and driver SSD1322 are same, and only difference is the PCB. Also interface type(SPI, parallel,...) can be selected as needed.

Can you share the UTCOMP display connector pinout and communication interface?

Here you have connector pinout for OLED:

VDD = +5V

I checked datasheet of NHD-3.12-25664UCW2 and it does not tolerate +5V power supply (max 3.5V) - seems it does not have DC/DC converter on board. Interface is the same, but unfortunately it will not work, it will be damaged after connection instantly.

Thank you for the voltage warning. I looked on the OLED PCD in this thread: https://forum.reveltronics.com/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=918. There is more components, but mostly zero ohm resistors (probably as posible voltage dividers? I don't know.). The OLED glass itself looks same.

So I made the wiring and give it a try. And it works. SSD1322 and other components are cool, nothing is overheating. I suppose, that the SSD1322 is 5V tolerant even that is not mentioned in datasheet.

Interesting. Please observe it carefully, you may have voltage drop on 1m flat cable. There is no resistors in series, but there is DC/DC converter on OLED board for VDD (+5V -> +3.3V)
