LMT01LPG sensor instead of DS18B20?

I am looking to buy a UT Comp Pro, but have some questions.

My first one involves a sensor for oil temperature. I cannot use the DS18B20 since it cuts off at 125. I need the sensor to go to 150. The LMT01LPG (click for datasheet) does so, and like the 18B20 it is digital. Can I use a this with the UT Comp Pro?

These DS inpusts are only for DS18B20 sensors. But you have also analog (AdcX and AdcVccX) inputs which you can use for analog temperature sensors (NTC type). This LMT01LPG sensor is pulse count sensor, while AdcX inputs requires voltage on input (AdcVcc requires resistance sensor connected). Personally I'm a bit disappointed with the focus on the DS18B20 sensor setup in the UTCOMP. Aside from interior and exterior temperature, they are next to useless. Even then, having had my UTCOMP for over six months, I don't even look at these temperature readings so there's not much point to them. What I do need all the time is coolant temperature and oil temperature, both of which can peak over 125C (although hopefully not, in the case of coolant!).

The UTCOMP-Pro has four DS18B20 inputs. It drives me mad; those inputs could be better served for two more ADC inputs, which I could actually make use of for things like additional wideband AFR and EGT.

Basically the UTCOMP-Pro needs at least another three ADC inputs and two less DS18B20 inputs.

Dear Kaldek, thank you for your suggestion. Here is an explanation :-) DS are digital inputs and it can not be replaced with analog inputs. For analog circuit it is required accurate 12bit ADC converter (8-ch in UTCOMP-PRO) and oamps (2x 8-ch as a buffers in UTCOMP-PRO) - that's why there are 7 analog inputs (8th is battery voltage). DS inputs require only digital inputs. There are people that are using these sensors for inside/outisde, before/after intercooler, for coolant (alert is set for about 98-102C), for engine and gearbox oil (in some cases, specially for offroad), for LPG temperature + some rare ideas. These sensors are for up to +125C from datasheet, but from my experience it still working with 130-140C (I guess not so accurate, but for alert it is enough). These sensors does not require any calibration for wide range of measurements.

If you are wondering why one wants to use a digital thermometer as opposed to the analog one is simple , I would rather use the analog inputs for things like crankcase pressure , so vital in forged internal builds

I checked datasheet and it has totally different protocol (duty-cycle controlled), do not know at the moment if it may be supported with software update.

Anyway, I observed that DS sensors works fine up to 140-150C (even if in datasheet is only up to 125C)
