Testing UTCOMP prior to installation

Postby Assiduous » Mon Dec 12, 2016 1:18 pm

Hello,

I'd like to test that my UTCOMP PRO and OLED display are functional prior to installation. What is the bare minimum of connections required to test OLED and configure UTCOMP-PRO with a computer? When preconfiguring with PC, is a power source needed or does it draw power from the USB? If I need to supply power, do you see any issue with running off my PC power supply +12VDC rail?

Bare minimum is +12 volts to the ignition/power PIN A23 and a ground connection to pin A12. USB power is not enough.

Required is main power supply (+8...+32V) at pins A12 (ground) and A24 (vcc). It should be also high level (e.g. vcc too) at pin A23 for UTCOMP wake up from sleep mode. USB is optional (it will not work at USB only). It can be connected main power and USB to PC at the same time.
