Adding boost pressure sensor to my install

Hi!

I have a couple of question about boost pressure sensors. I have a spare of the oil and fuel pressure sensors. Is there any reason why I couldn't´t use it to measure boost pressure?

Also - at the moment, I´ve used all the pressure reading inputs - is there a trick to add another one, or would the best way be to add a relay to switch between some of my fuel pressure sensors?

Thanks a lot!

Cheers,
Svein

Pressure sensors has usually lower range than oil and fuel pressure sensors, so they will be more accurate but all types will work.

There are 3 pressures in UTCOMP-PRO: boost, oil and fuel. If you need 4th pressure then you can connect it, but you will need to use other value to scale it and change icon, e.g. use AFR and change AFR icon to pressure icon.

So basically if I copy the values from the pressure readings, I can read out pressure in PSI with the AFR variable? Thats a great idea! Thank you so much!

The easiest install for me will be to drill and tap a 1/8" npt hole in the upper intake manifold. I have seen similar pressure sensors before as the fuel pressure sensors you sell with a lower range, so I guess I could try to order one of those if it doesn't work properly with the ones I have.

Thanks again for great customer service! :)

Cheers,
Svein

I installed the boost sensor today,
and I am getting readings. They are a bit wobbly, but with some adjustments I managed to get some readings.
I adjusted the AFR values, and ended up with a=25.90 b=-12.90. That gave me some sensible readings from 0-4.4 psi.

Does these numbers seem sensible to you? I copied the numbers from the pressure readings, but I had to multiply them with 10 to get a sensible reading?

Thanks again,
Svein:)

It's hard to say, it is good to make output table (voltage/pressure) - minimum 2 measurements and you will get accurate readings.
You can read voltage @sensor in utcomp app (reading tab), but you will also need to measure pressure at the same time with other sensor.
