Help for diesel mechanicaly injected - fuel consumption

Postby Toomas » Tue Apr 28, 2020 4:02 pm

Hello hello,
I bought a UTcomp Pro almost 2 years ago and installed it on my australian landcruiser 80 series VX sahara 1HDFT 1995 . There's no electronic injection. At the time I did just the basics as EGT, digital temp sensors a bit every where...
2 years later I would like to complete the installation but feel a bit lost now...
How could a get to wire any fuel consumption reading please ?
And for the trip functions what is the best , abs speed sensor or automatic transmission one ? Or any aftermarket?
And what if I fit bigger tire size where can I adjust it please ?
Finally, how many Battery voltage level can we monitor on one utcomp pro ?
THANK YOU !

PS- I'll try to post photos of my install in the right forum section. Cheers

Hi Toomas,

First of all - please check latest user manual here:
https://www.reveltronics.com/downloads/ ... manual.pdf

Signal from ABS sensor will not work, it has to be 0-5V or 0-12V pulse signal. Speed sensor from automatic transmission will be fine. Any aftermarket also will be fine. Or even classic hall sensor with magnets, please check it: https://www.reveltronics.com/downloads/ ... E4905L.pdf

For bigger tire you will need recalculate VSS constant - please check Chapter 3.3 in manual (first link above)

For fuel consumption without electronic injection and diesel engine it's not so simple. You can use flow meter, but it's not always possible due to return fuel to fuel tank. I found some examples from one of flow meters manufacturer. Please check PDF from attachment start page 13 for assembling examples. UTCOMP will work with any pulse flowmeter - just need to select FREQ+ as consumption signal
