DS2431 Dallas brand issues

Hi ArT,

I have been using Revelprog IS with Chinese (GX2431) DS2431 with no issues. Connect the ground pin to Pin 4 and the I/O pin to Pin 5.

Now, with the Dallas DS2431 brand, this method doesn't work. When I try reading the chip, it says device not found. I've tried that on at least five chips now.

I tried a 1.8 kohm resistor as a pull-up from pin 8 to I/O, but it did not help.

Please advise how I can get the DS 2431 Dallas chips to work.

Regards

Hi rsm, it should work in the same way. I'm connecting to DS2431 just 2 wires (pin4 to I/O and pin5 to GND) and it's working fine. Are you sure that chips are not faulty? Does it still work with your GX2431? Which package do you using? Does programmer pass HW test?

It is TO-92, a pack of 10.

No, it does not find the wire chip and fails the HW test due to a lack of connection.

Is there a main difference between GX2431 and Dallas DS 2431 in function Im missing?

GX2431 works fine and passes the HW test. But Im pretty sure pin 4 is ground, are you sure its I/O to pin 4?

Regards

Both should be the same. Do you have GX2431 in the same package as DS2431?
Please show me your connection, typical issue is swaped pin1 with pin3 in TO92 package, so users are connecting pin3 instead of pin1.
In REVELPROG-IS when you select DS2431 from database pin4 is ground and pin5 is IO.

GX2431 work fine, read, write etc.

The Dallas DS2431 not so much. Here is the link to images: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... sp=sharing

I tried all combinations of two pins to Pin 4 and 5, but none can get connected.

I ordered DS2431, tested it today and everything is working fine with v1.9.1
Pin4 and Pin5 from programmer are enough for read/write/erase.

You can send to me your chip so I can check where is the issue, with chip or with programmer.
