The specification for the EGT-K amplifier states a temperature range of 0°C > 1250°C.
Is it possible to change the offset so that it can measure temperatures below 0°C? For example something like -50°C > 1200°C.
My application is for measuring cylinder head temperatures on a four cylinder air cooled engine.
While the 0°C > 1250°C range covers operating temperatures when the engine is running, it would be more elegant if the display was correct when the engine is cold and ambient temperature is significantly below zero.
Thanks
Leo

Re: Thermocouple amplifier
Offset is set to 0V in hardware, so without changing hardware board it is not possible.
We can make custom project, if you interested please contact us by mail.
PS. when you start engine in very cold environment, than EGT instantly goes to positive temperature. If you need temperature measurement of engine block without starting it, I recommend to use other sensor, e.g. NTC or DS18B20 for coolant/air temperature.
