How is Vavg (Averge Speed) Calculated

Is the Vavg on the trip summary calculated as a MOVING average? After a 1200 mile trip, my average velocity seems lower than I would have expected.

It's calculated since trip reset stats and if you are using 2 fuels it will be calculated from 2 fuels.
