Ut comp pro EGT readings calibration

Post by Toomas »

Hi Peeps,

I have troubles with calibrating my EGTs.

I entered a=250.0 and b=0.0

Egt reading on Adc1 is 1.44Volts ( moving from 1.43v to 1.45v) and screening 357°c to 363°c , engine is off and cold.

What do you guys think?

Thank you

You need to check if issue with amplifier or with sensor.

Please disconnect sensor (from TC+ and TC-) and amplifier should give around +5V on output (UTCOMP should show around +1250C). Please confirm that you have +5V output on disconnected thermocouple.

Please make sure also that you have connected properly TC+ and TC- , if you swap inputs you will have similar effect.

Hi Art, and thank you for your help .

Indeed when wsapping Tc+ and Tc- ,the value remain exactly the same, and thermocoupler disconected also. It seems that my amplifier is bugged. It is a cheap Ad8495 ship .

I guess Im good for ordering something more descent.

Thank you !!! :)

Hi Art,

I would like go ask you an other question on an other subject if that's ok.
My car is an old 4x4 6L diesel . I'm rebuilding the mechanical injectors ( no thing electronic, no ecu) and will adjust my mechanical fuel pump too.
So I want to use my EGTs and install an A/F sensor to monitor how is the combustion like insite an adjust it.
Do I need a wide band O2 sensor + controller ?
Cheers mate

Every wideband o2 sensor requires controller. Controller should have also AFR output (0-5V) for external device, e.g. ECU (for maps adjusting etc.) or gauge (just to read AFR value)
