UTCOMP and other display choices?

Postby bobnmona » Thu Oct 20, 2016 5:20 am

Hi all,

Brand new to UTCOMP, but when I was still researching making a trip computer for my '95 Range Rover Classic from an Arduino, I looked at many display options and found Nextion displays. They had size options from 2.4" to 7.0" and I'm wondering if UTCOMP computers can attach to something other than the ones Reveltronics sells? The NX4827K043 (4.3" color display) would be a good selection and Nextion comes with an onboard processor and memory to allow the user to program the "desktop" image and function displays (https://youtu.be/sjWwVs3pr9I). They have their own editor software that makes programming the display relatively easy.

Does anyone on the forum know of larger displays that were successfully used? I would appreciate knowing!

Cheers!

Robbie

This display is not compatible. We use OLED displays - UTCOMP-3 requires SSD1305 driver and UTCOMP-PRO requires SSD1322 driver.

Thank you ArT - I appreciate the information and now I understand that only OLED displays will work.
Best cheers!

Will this display work on the UTCOMP-3?

Thanks in advance

It will not - it is only OLED panel without control electronics. You can try this and try to replace blue panel with white panel.
