Help for UTCOMP installation in a Merdedes C280 1995

Post by bravisimo »

Hello,

I want to buy UTCOMP-3, but before I need to know if my car has got all the wires needed to do it.
My car is a Mercedes Benz C280 Petrol Automatic (6L cylinders)1995'.
I will only need the following gauges:
Current L/100 Km
Average L/100 Km
Distance to empy in KM

I know that the RPM and Fuel level wires are in a swith at the back of the Dashboard, but I don't know if that signal are the ones that UTCOMP requires.
I don't know what wire (and where is it), for the fuel inyectors.

Regards,

Antonio

Hi Antonio,

Speed signal you can get from speed sensor (X91) or abs module (A16) - it's green white wire which is going to instrument cluster at pin M2:

Injector signal (for fuel consumption) you can get from any of injectors (directly) or any pin in ECU pin 23 or 13 or 2 or 3 or 12 or 24 socket 2:

Hello Art,
Many thanks for your answer.

My last question, what about fuel level, can I take the signal from the instrument cluster?

Thanks in advance,
Regards,

Antonio

Don't know what type of signal is it, if it's 0-5V voltage signal then yes.
But you can also measure fuel level from consumption (it's by default) - you do not need to connect any additional signal in such case.

Hello Art,

So, the UTCOMP can show me the Distance to empty automatically, with the current fuel consumption and the distance, is it?
Is it necessary to introduce each time I fill the petrol tank?

Antonio

Yes it can show you, but every refuel you need to reset stats. If you refuel to full it's quick and easy, but if you refuel to not full you will need to provide amount of liters.
