Please check "BP" checkbox to program byte by byte and try also to program single page instead of whole area at once.
And please remember to check to enter password before operation.

Hi,

Tried it, but no avail.
Strange thing is that it creates a questionmark (?) in de vendor field instead of the password behind the vendor name.
When i select revert back to vendor name it nicely stays the vendorname without any changes but keeps telling me the same password....

is there a way to enable a log where it store all operation? so i can see and check what's exactly been executed?

Any ideas are appriciated...

the normal logs keeps saying this:

20:54:54.226: SEARCHING (checked 800010FF)
20:54:54.762: SEARCHING (checked 80001100)
20:54:55.423: FOUND PASSWORD
20:54:55.423: FOUND PASSWORD (80001101)

tried with slow speed, like 255 ms, but same output

What are first 4 bytes in vendor name? It should be password (if you not selected to restore vendor name), but it may be also test phrase which is used during brute force and from some reason changing it to password is not working.

I think that it found password correctly (if vendor name is changed), now we need to figure out why it can not be used properly. I guess it may need to adjust write delay - could you make some experiments with write delay? When you click write (for standard SFP - without A0/A2 suffix) it should open custom script window. Then you can modify this script (extend write delay) and click execute and check if it worked.

Hey, i have similar problem with QSFP (first time trying to modify vendor name of QSFP, so far only SFP and SFP+ and no problems)

Every time i try to change vendor, it turns back go original.. so i thought it was password protected and tried brute-force

Strange thing is around 41 54 53 32 QSFP always timeouts, so in log there is no password found.
But now my vendor is TEST ATS2TEST, i have backup bin, but cannot flash it back.
I tried second brute-force, starting from 41 54 00 00 and after couple of attempts, it said device timeout again and now my vendor is "FND? ATS2FND?"

I try to enter password 41 54 53 32 before write, but it always goes back to "FND? ATS2FND?" after writing.

Strange thing is after i chk sum/save vendor info to buffer and write, all script operations are success.
Tried only 128page 0, tried BP. Nothing changes.. so brute-force somehow changes vendor, but i cannot?

This is one of the test phrase in brute force alghoritm. When test phrase write is successful - it should restore manufacturer name OR password in manufacturer name (depends on selected settings) using this password. Maybe this password is changing after first successful write? Where are you from? Could you send us one of these QSFP for further tests?

Bulgaria.

After reading in forum and gaining experience from other posts, i found a solution.

Password was ATS1, and not ATS2, when i tried brute force with 80ms delay it found it(ATS1) successfully (Green Found) and everything is working OK now.

Maybe without delay, it somehow try passwords too fast and successfully write ATS2(while right password was ATS1) vendor and before QSFP timeout, but without confirming ATS1 is right password.

Hope you understand, because it is a way complicated i described it.

Thanks for your support, i found solution here in the forum :)

One more suggestion, we needed to change vendor OUI for our QSFP to work properly
Im attaching picture of right place if someone want to change it.

It will be easier if you find place for it on top, to be changed like vendor/part number/revision and etc, so no need to edit hex directly ;)
